  • Early Warning Tools Downtime expected: 7pm Monday 7th October until approximately 9am Tuesday 8th October this is because of the enhancement being built into the system (this does not mean the whole system will be in downtime, please see below)
  • This upgrade will include additional fields to align with the Statewide paper Early Warning Tool (EWT).

Who is affected?

  • All areas using Welch Allyn Devices for vital signs device integration
  • Changes DO NOT impact integrated GE devices within Operating Theatres

What does this mean for me?

  • During the enhancement build:
    • Managing Deteriorating mPage will NOT be available
    • Early Warning Score WILL NOT calculate
    • Decision Support for CEWT and Q-ADDS WILL NOT display pop-up alerts
    • Clinicians will receive an alert titled Early Warning Tools Downtime
  • Continue to use device integration as normal, however, if you experience any issues, vital signs can be manually entered into Interactive View (iView)
  • Clinicians are advised to refer to the Welch Allyn Device for CEWT and Q-ADD scores and/or paper reference tools that are supplied within this resource pack

What communication will I receive?

  • Production Validation Testing will occur on the morning of Tuesday 8th October by the ieMR Digital Service Team
  • Once testing has passed, a notification will be disseminated to staff advising of the completion of the enhancement build
  • Biomedical Technical Services (BTS) will be onsite upgrading the Welch Allyn devices to ensure the latest configuration is available

Melinda Brady“For all of us working at community health, moving from paper to the digital record will mean that clinicians working at the hospital can see what care patients are receiving in the community. This will improve communication across the continuum of care which will be a good thing for patients with complex healthcare needs across our health service.”
